Ron Welch- President
Dr. Ron Welch is the Clinical Lead Pharmacy Specialist at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Golden Triangle. His main interests include infectious disease, cardiology, and adult medicine. He is board certified in Infectious Disease and Pharmacotherapy. He serves as preceptor for multiple schools of pharmacy and served as residency program director for over 5 years. Dr. Welch has developed numerous protocols that have enhanced pharmacy services at GTR and expanded pharmacist autonomy. An active member of MSHP, ASHP, ACCP, SIDP, ACC, and MAD-ID; he is passionate about advancing pharmacy practice, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, advocating for the pharmacy profession, and mentoring the next generation of pharmacists. He lives in Columbus, MS with his wife Hope Welch (Oncology Pharmacy Specialist) and two daughters.
Joseph Nosser- President-Elect
Dr. Joseph Nosser is originally from Vicksburg, Mississippi, and serves as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice with William Carey University School of Pharmacy. He currently practices as a clinical pharmacist with the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Clinic in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2013. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy in 2019. He also completed a PGY-1 community-based pharmacy residency from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in 2020. Dr. Nosser is a Board-Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) and a Board-Certified Medication Therapy Management Specialist (BCMTMS) through the National Board of Medication Therapy Management (NBMTM). His professional interests include ambulatory care pharmacy practice, pharmacist-led clinical services (i.e., continuous glucose monitoring, chronic care management), and precepting future generations of student pharmacists in Mississippi. He is an avid supporter of Southern Miss athletics and enjoys spending time with his family friends, cooking, and traveling around the United States.
Elizabeth Holley- Treasurer
Dr. Elizabeth Holley completed her bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences in 2019 and Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2022 from the University of Mississippi. After graduation, she completed a PGY-1 residency at North Mississippi Medical Center (2023). After residency, she joined the NMMC team as a PRN pharmacist and further transitioned to be the clinical pharmacist at the Internal Medicine Residency Clinic. In her role, she participates in interprofessional discussions with residents, physicians, social work, and clinic staff. She provides anticoagulation services, chronic care management, medication access assistance, and presentations for residents and patients. She currently serves as the Treasurer for Mississippi College of Clinical Pharmacy (MCCP) 2025 calendar year. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and pets and traveling.
